Jannik Sinner opens Wimbledon defense as odds-on title favorite
Italy's Jannik Sinner during practice ahead of Wimbledon on Jun 26, 2026. Jannik Sinner will begin his second consecutive Grand Slam as the odds-on favorite in the men's draw, and will be hoping for a better result this time around.
Sinner opened last month's French Open as the -325 favorite at BetMGM, but wilted in the Paris heat and failed to reach the third round. He'll enter as the -175 favorite at Wimbledon, where Sinner is the defending champion.
For the second consecutive Grand Slam event, the Italian world No. 1 will not have to contend with rival Carlos Alcaraz, as the Spaniard remains sidelined by a wrist injury. However, seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic is on his side of the draw. The Serbian star has the second-shortest odds, although the 24-time Grand Slam champion is well behind Sinner at +650.
Alexander Zverev took advantage of Sinner's early exit from the French Open to claim his first Grand Slam title. The German begins Wimbledon with the third-shortest odds at +1100.
Big-serving Americans Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz are tied for the fourth-shortest odds at +1600. No other player in the men's draw has shorter odds than Britain's Jack Draper and Czech Jakub Mensik at +3300 apiece.
Draper, who reached the semifinals at Eastbourne after being sidelined two months by a knee injury, faces Fritz in the marquee first-round matchup. Fritz is the -160 favorite to get past Draper (+130).
Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime is a +6600 title long shot despite being the No. 3 seed at the All England Club.
Sinner begins his Wimbledon defense against Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic. He opened as the +130 men's title favorite, but those odds have shortened significantly as the Italian leads the field with 26.9% of all bets and 49.3% of the money wagered backing him to claim his fifth career Grand Slam title.
Shelton is the second-biggest liability, having drawn 10.8% and 5.3% of the action, respectively, while seeing his title odds cut in half.
Djokovic, 39, has been backed by 12.7% of the total bets and 11.7% of the money and is BetMGM's third-biggest liability.
